School Site Council SSC

The School Site Council (SSC) is a shared decision-making group made up of school staff, parents/guardians, and community members. The SSC plays a key role in supporting student success by helping guide schoolwide planning and the use of instructional resources.

The council is responsible for the development, review, and approval of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and the school site budget, ensuring that resources are aligned with student needs and school goals.

What the SSC Does

The SSC works collaboratively to support student achievement by focusing on the following areas:

  • Implementation of a standards-based instructional program

  • Establishing and monitoring systems of assessment and evaluation

  • Support for English Language Learners

  • Special education services

  • Equity and access

  • Academic and social-emotional interventions

  • Parent and community engagement

How Decisions Are Made

SSC decisions are informed through the careful review and analysis of student data. This data-driven process helps the council identify priorities, develop improvement strategies, and allocate resources in ways that best support student learning and overall school success.
