Course Load & Credits

  • A typical schedule includes 6 courses per semester (60 credits per year)
  • One semester course (18 weeks) = 5 credits
  • One year-long course (36 weeks) = 10 credits

Academic Progression

  • Students must earn a grade of “C” or better in math, science, world language, and certain electives to continue in that subject sequence
  • Courses already passed cannot be repeated for credit, unless labeled May Be Repeated for Credit (MBRFC)

Students planning to apply to UC or CSU schools should aim to meet A–G requirements, which may exceed minimum graduation requirements. We encourage students to work closely with their counselor to plan a course schedule that supports their post-high school goals.
