El Camino High's advanced performance dance team won a studio excellence award in the large group hip hop category of the Hollywood Vibe Dance Convention and Competition at the Hyatt Regency SFO in Burlingame on March 16, 2024.
Performances were evaluated on style/execution, staging, formations, choreography, musicality, and overall impression including appearance, performance, and crowd appeal.
Hollywood Vibe promotes the art of dance by teaching choreography from leaders in the commercial dance industry to people of all ages.
The convention's instructors and judges are professional choreographers and dancers who have worked with performers such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Jennifer Lopez and on shows like Dancing with the Stars, America's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, and more.
The next big event for the school's dance program is the Shaping Ground spring recital that runs from May 2-4 at El Camino High's Little Theater.
